Roasting coffee wasn't part of the plan
We fell in love with hospitality and subsequently fell in love with the art of making people happy over a good cup of joe. Our journey as a business has led us to be apart of the process in a deeper and more fundamental way; sourcing and roasting our own coffee. As a way to foster camaraderie and collaboration, we teamed up with other local roasters in the Twin Cities to form a co-roasting space in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Here we all share a 15kg Mill City roaster, store our green coffee, and host cuppings for our staff.
For everything there is a season
Combined with over 20 years of experience in speciality coffee, Justin Bloom and Andrew Shoemaker head up our roasting department. As Director of Coffee at Happy Monday, Justin has a desire to subvert expectations around hospitality and this beautiful equatorial product called coffee. As Head Roaster, Andrew loves anything wild and weird. He loves coffees that push the narrative of what it is and can be.
Like any agricultural product, coffee has a season. We aim to keep our Daily Driver (flagship blend) and Cruise Control (decaf) as consistent as possible. That being said, our single origin and Daily Driver blend components will shift with the seasons. Be on the look out for fun coffees as we continue to bring you into our story!
